On 21st and 28th March, the French vote for their local representatives: the main political parties are UMP (Union for a Popular Movement: center right), UDF (New Union for French Democracy: center right),

PS (Socialist Party: center left), Verts (the Greens: left), PCF (the Communists: extreme left) and the FN (National Front: extreme right).

These regional elections are representative of the influence of traditional families in the French local political spectrum: here are the Têtes de Listes with more than 10% on the ballot of 21st March:

In Brittany, Josselin, Duc de Rohan (UDF) with 25.6% (see below);

In Champagne-Ardenne, Charles de Courson (UDF) with 11.11% (see below)

In Corsica, Camille de Rocca Serra (UMP) with 14.59% (see below);

In Picardie, Gilles de Robien, Minister of Transports of President Jacques Chirac (UDF) with 32.25%, descendant of the Dukes of Brittany.

The French Parliament is composed of 2 assemblies: the National Assembly (577 deputies elected for 4 years) and the Senate (321 senators elected for 6 years). The members of the National Assembly
